BSF nab cattle smugglers along Indo-Bangla border yet again

Guwahati, May 13, 2019:

In different operations, the troops of Border Security Force (BSF) of Guwahati Frontier apprehended two Indian cattle smugglers along with 6 cattle heads on May 12 and 13.

They were apprehended from the Indo-Bangladesh bordering areas of Ashmeralga in South Salmara district (Assam) and Sitai in (WB). In the first incident, acting on a tip-off on Sunday at about 10:50 am, a special ambush of BSF troops of Border Out Post (BOP) Ashmeralga apprehended one Indian cattle smuggler from area of responsibility of Border Out Post of Ashmeralga, while he was trying to smuggle the cattle from India to Bangladesh. The apprehended cattle smuggler has been identified as Mazumil Hoque (33).

He has been handed over to Kharuabanda Police for further legal action. Meanwhile, BSF troops apprehended another Indian cattle smuggler along with 6 cattle from the area of responsibility of Border Outpost of Sitai, while he was trying to smuggle the cattle from India to Bangladesh.

The apprehended cattle smuggler has been identified as Ram Kishan Jana (37). He has been handed over to Sitai Police for further legal action. Besides, the BSF troops of Guwahati Frontier seized 75 cattle heads having an approximate value of Rs. 9,63,225 on May 12-13 2019.
