BTC Polls: CM Sonowal accuses BPF-led Government of "large scale corruption"

GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal who campaigned for the BTR election, today requested the voters to cast their valuable votes in favor of BJP candidates to ensure overall development in the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) areas.

Chief Minister Sonowal also said that in the last 15 years for the development of BTR the Central and State governments released a huge chunk of money.

However, contrary to development, the previous BPF government indulged in large scale corruption. He also said that the corrupt BPF government never hesitated to indulge in corrupt practices at the cost

Stating that the previous BPF government remained in power for more than 15 years, it (the government) miserably failed in translating the aims and aspirations of the people of BTR.

Addressing a mammoth public election rally at Ulubari Playground in Bijni SubDivision and seeking votes for the BJP candidates for the polls that will be held on December 10, Chief Minister Sonowal requested the voters to cast their votes for a government which will be sympathetic towards the fulfillment of the aims and aspirations of the people of the BTR.

On the other hand, the people alleged that the fund allotted for the implementation of welfare schemes in BTR was consumed by the government. Therefore, he requested the voters of BTR to exercise their franchise in favor of a change and cast their votes in favor of the BJP

He also said that taking cues of the Central and State governments run by the BJP, the people of BTR very earnestly desire to form a government of BJP. He also said that the if BJP forms the government at BTR all people belonging to all caste, creed, ethnicity, and religion can feel secure and can have development in the real sense of the term. He also said that if
BJP forms government in the BTR there will be total peace, prosperity, and tranquillity in the BTR areas.

Sonowal also said that if BJP comes to power, the government can implement Central and State government schemes in the BTR areas. He moreover, said that if BJP comes to power the government will work intensely to wipe out corrupt practices from BTR. However, at different times the divisive forces retard the rate of development. The BJP government therefore, once comes to power will tame all the divisive forces by bringing everybody to the mainstream and unleash a strong narrative of development in the BTR.

Minister of State for Revenue and Disaster Management Jogen Mohan, MP Rajya Sabha Bhubaneswar Kalita, Chairman Minority Development Board Mominul Awal, Secretary, BJP Sukumar Biswas and a host of others were present at the rallies.

Later, Chief Minister Sonowal participated in another meeting at Kalipukhuri in Kokrajhar today.
