NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a major announcement for students who have tested positive for coronavirus at a time when cases are on the rise across the world.

CBSE said that, students who have tested positive for the virus will not be required to take the laboratory practical exams. Such students' practical exams would either be postponed and conducted in April or after the written exams are completed.

According to the CBSE circular, COVID-infected students should be advised to rest and isolate themselves at home. Furthermore, the CBSE stated that if an applicant tests positive for COVID-19 and is unable to take the practical exam, the practical exam for that student can be rescheduled.

According to reports, at least two head teachers said that this decision would bring cheers for parents and students.

City schools are concerned that coronavirus cases are on the rise again just as the CBSE board practical exams begin.

In the wake of the increasing number of Covid incidents, many schools in Kolkata have begun or will soon begin Class XII board practicals.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic and recent increase in cases, the CBSE recently allowed students in grades 10 and 12 who are appearing for the board exams to change their exam centres for the practical and theory exams.
