NEW DELHI: Pakistan captain Babar Azam has slipped from second place to third in the latest International Cricket Council (ICC) T20I rankings.

The Lahore-born batsman scored 95 runs at an average of 31.67 in three games, with his best score of 52 runs coming in the final T20I.

As a result, Babar who had 844 points prior to the Zimbabwe series, finished with 828 points, two less than Australia's limited-over captain Aaron Finch, who is now in second place.

With 892 points, England's batting sensation Dawid Malan has maintained his lead. Devon Conway of New Zealand and Virat Kohli of India, meanwhile have maintained their fourth and fifth places, respectively.

A Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan, has risen significantly in the rankings. After winning the ‘player of the series' award against Zimbabwe, the Peshawar native has broken into the top 10 for the first time.

The right-handed batsman improved five spots to 10th place after unbeaten knocks of 82 and 91 in the first and third T20Is, respectively. Rizwan has surpassed England captain Eoin Morgan and Indian opener Rohit Sharma in the rankings.

Wesley Madhevere of Zimbabwe has moved up 88 slots to joint-132nd place after finishing the series as Zimbabwe's top run-scorer with 89 runs.

Other batsmen in the top-10 include Rassie van der Dussen, KL Rahul, Glenn Maxwell, and Martin Guptill, who are ranked six, seven, eight and nine, respectively.
