SHILLONG: The Centre has given the administrative approval and financial sanction for the construction of the Mawshynrut (West Khasi Hills) to Hahim (Kamrup) road.

The Meghalaya government had long been pressing the Centre for the road along with three others in the state.

The 37 km road has been sanctioned at an estimated cost of Rs 99.76 crore under  the North East Road Sector Development Scheme (NERSDS) of DoNER ministry.
