Centre releases ₹6,195 cr, grants ₹631 cr to Assam, Rs 235 cr to Manipur among other NE states

The Government of India Ministry of Finance Department of Expenditure Finance Commission Division approved the release of Rs 6,15,774.95 Lakh (Rupees Six Thousand One Hundred Fifty-Seven Crore, Seventy Four Lakh and Ninety Five Thousand Only) as grants-in-aid to cover deficit on post-devolution revenue account in 2020-21 as recommended by the 15th Finance Commission on a monthly proportionate basis to the following State Governments in the month of August 2020: (Rs. in lakhs

Out of the money being granted Assam received 631.58 crores.

The Reserve Bank of India, Nagpur to credit the above-indicated amount to the Accounts of the concerned State Governments. 3. The payments are adjustable in the Accounts of the Ministry of Finance under the Head-3601. Grant-in-Aid (General) to cover deficit on Revenue Account in Demand No.38- Transfer to States for the year 2020-21. 4. The above-detailed grant is released on an account basis till finalization of Guidelines on the subject.
