ITANAGAR: Itanagar Capital Region Deputy Commissioner Talo Potom made extensive visits to all the government schools of the capital region without any intimation to the schools’ authorities and inspect the day-to-day activities of the schools, including the implementation of the midday meal scheme.

DC also took classes and asked questions to the students regarding their ongoing subjects and General knowledge.

The DC, who visited a government higher secondary school in Polo Colony, said the school's administration had filed a statement "about the challenges they are experiencing, which will be passed to the higher authority."

Several key orders were given to the deputy commissioners at the deputy commissioners' conference in Namsai.

According to Potom, "some of which included activities for the growth of education and welfare of students, the teaching fraternity, and the people as a whole."

He also said that his office has received proposals from almost all the schools of the capital region, “totaling around Rs 100 crores.”

The DC stated that he would not be able to supply the funds since his office only has a fund of roughly Rs 25 lakhs at the district level that has been given to the DDSE for urgent and vital repairs on school campuses.

Potom inspected the GHSS’ classrooms and campus and interacted with the school children.

Many students and teenagers are abusing drugs during their adolescence, and they require suitable direction and motivation from the state's knowledgeable people.
