CID arrests three more in pre-matric minority students’ scholarship case

GUWAHATI: Assam Police’s CID last night detained five more persons in connection with the pre-matric minority students’ scholarship case from different places under Boko, Nagarbera and Dhupdhara police stations in Kamrup district.

Police said a CID team conducted search and picked up Nur Haque, 38, Golam Mustafa, 27, Azad Rofikul Islam, 41, Muniruddin, 25, and Azizul Haque, 28.

After interrogation, Nur Haque, Golam Mustafa and Azad Rofikul Islam have been arrested. They will be produced before the court tomorrow, police added. Muniruddin and Azizul Haque have been released.

With the arrests, the total number of arrests in connection with the case now stands at 35. The CID has been investigating the case vide CID PS Case No. 20/2020 u/s 120B/406/409/419/420/468/471/ IPC R/W Sec. 66C/66D I.T Act.
