NEW DELHI: The Congress has decided to set a state level committee to analyse the recently concluded results of assembly elections in the state at their Congress Working Committee meeting yesterday.

In the recent Assam assembly election though Congress had tried to give a fight, even by forming a 8 parties grand alliance, the Bharatiya Janata Party swept the polls for the second consecutive time.

Congress alone could claim only 29 seats where BJP won from as many as 60 seats.

It was found that Congress lost many seats to the BJP by a lower margin.

Hence the CWC had decided to review and analyse the party's performance in the assembly polls at the meeting yesterday.

Apart from Assam, CWC had suggested to form same state level panels in the states of Kerala and West Bengal, which went to polls with Assam as well.

"These results tell us clearly that we need to put our house in order," said Sonia Gandhi.

At the party meeting it was also decided to postpone party's election for a new president till June 23.
