KOKRAJHAR: As the heat of By polls soar high in Assam, AICC General Secretary in charge Assam Jitendra Singh Alwar on Monday said that Bodo land is under threat and that only Congress is fighting for the existence of BTC.

"Bodo land under threat ! Only

@INCIndia is fighting for the existence of BTC against BJP combo (BPF, UPPL & AIUDF)

Welcomed 300 Bodos who joined

in the fight for the existence of BTC", he tweeted.

While addressing the crowd at Gossaigaon on Monday, Singh questioned what the ruling party has done so far in the past 6 months under the governance of Himanta Biswa Sarma.

"Where is the wage raise of tea garden workers... where are the jobs...", questioned Singh taking a jibe at the rulinb party.

On Sunday, he said that ruling party has again started with the hollow promises about roads and bridges.

“It is only during the time of elections, the ruling party remembers about roads and flyovers. What was BJP doing in the last 5 years?”, he said during his address at Thowra on Sunday.

Speaking further he said that the leaders keep changing parties in the name of progress.

“Is there any bigger lie than this?”, he questioned.

Continuing with his questions, Singh stated that BJP was ruling 5 years ago and it is still there. What did it do?

He questioned about increasing daily wages of tea gardeners up to Rs. 350 which was promised. Singh also brought up soaring prices of prices of petrol and diesel in the state.

Talking about the Chief Minister, Singh said that people know how Sarma became Chief Minister shuffling between parties.

He further condemned the Chief Minister’s announcement of ₹2,000-crore worth of development projects in the constituency of any Opposition party candidate who joins BJP.

“I have never seen any Chief Minister saying such things. It is a matter shame”, he added.

Speaking further Singh said that it disheartens him to see the people here and the kind of politics BJP is engaging in.
