Silchar: Amid ongoing tensions between Assam and Mizoram at the border, GP Singh, the Additional Director General of Police (law and order) of Assam made a visit to the Assam-Mizoram inter state border on Wednesday.

Accompanied by Deputy Commissioner, Cachar, Keerthi Jalli, DIG Southern Range, Dilip Kumar Dey, SP, Cachar, Bhanwar Lal Meena, and other officials, Singh reviewed the law and order situation in the wake of a bomb blast in a Bengali medium school located at Khulicherra area close to the Assam-Mizoram inter state border last Thursday night.

Singh said the explosion at the school was possibly the handiwork of miscreants out to terrorise the local people.
