AIZAWL: The Government of Mizoram's Disaster Management and Rehabilitation Department, in a new set of guidelines dated April 16, made the Government quarantine facility paid for the beneficiaries due to the government's financial constraints.

After being tested negative by rapid antigen testing (RAgT) at entry points, all persons entering Mizoram must undergo 7 days of quarantine/self-monitoring either at home or at any other quarantine facility.

People who do not have a separate bedroom and bathroom at home may choose community quarantine/institutional quarantine at their own expense and must report to the entry point.

The rates at the Government quarantine facility services are as follows –

For 7 days - For food Rs. 2,100, hotel prices vary from Rs. 3,500 to Rs. 700 depending upon the room chosen and the COVID-19 test will be Rs. 1,200 for RT-PCR, for TrueNat Rs. 1,000 and RAgT will cost Rs. 200.

The Deputy Commissioner must be paid in advance at the time of admission into the quarantine for 7 days.

If one wants immediate release from quarantine then they may opt for an RT-PCR test at their own expense. If one tests negative at the entry point through the RT-PCR test then the remaining quarantine period shall not be required.
