COVID-19: Mizoram records the biggest single day spike of the year

AIZAWL: Mizoram witnessed the biggest single day spike of the year with 37 fresh COVID-19 positive cases recorded over the past 24 hours, which has taken the state tally to 4,722.

The 33 cases among the 37 are from the state capital Aizawl itself, officials stated.

Mizoram has as many as 240 active cases, 4,470 people have been discharged on testing negative, and till date, a total of 12 have succumbed to the virus.

In Mizoram, massive vaccination has been going on as well and 91,547 citizens have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while as many as 29,011 people have completed the process till April 14 as stated in the government data.

On the other hand, India has added over 2 lakh new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, an incredible number, taking the total number of cases to over 1.4 crore.
