One held on charges of robbery attempt; arms, ammunition seized

GUWAHATI: One dacoit has been arrested today by the Sonapur police and arms and ammunition were recovered from his possession in a brick kiln at Damarapathar area in Sonapur.

The recovered cache includes two pistols, 21 rd of ammunition.

The accused has been identified as Abdul Zalil (26), a resident of Lotomari Borgaon under Kachuwa police station in Nagaon district.

The team of Sonapur police apprehended him while he was trying to commit robbery, a police official said.

A case has been registered against the accused.
