Delhi government on Sunday decided to extend the lockdown in the national capital for another week. The announcement was made by the Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

The Chief Minister said that the government will consider unlocking in a phased manner from 31 May if a downward trend is seen in the number of Covid cases.

Kejriwal further informed that the positivity rate has decreased from the all-time high of 36% to 2.5%.

Gripped by the second wave of Covid-19 the government imposed lockdown in the national capital on April 19. Seeing the surge in the number of positive cases, the lockdown was later extended several times.

"But within a month, the situation seems to be stabilising due to the discipline showed by the residents of the national capital," said Kejriwal.

Addressing the shortage of vaccines, Kejriwal said that he is looking into the matter and also is in talks with both domestic and international manufacturers
