Dibrugarh University student dies by suicide in hostel

DIBRUGARH: In a shocking incident in Assam’s Dibrugarh district, a girl reportedly died by suicide in her hostel room today.

The incident took place in the Aideu Handique Girls Hostel of Dibrugarh University.

The deceased has been identified as one Ranjita Chetry, a boarder of the Aideu Handique Girls Hostel.

The reason behind her death has not been established yet.

According to reports, the girl was a resident of Bihpuria town in Lakhimpur district.

This comes days after a seventh-semester female student of Tezpur University has committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan of her hostel room.

The body of the 20-year-old female student was found hanging on Friday morning by fellow inmates of the Kopili Girls Hostel and they altered the authorities.
