In a bizarre incident, a domestic dog was shot dead by the neighbor. The incident took place in Upper Rinchenpong in West Sikkim when one Laxman Rai lodged an FIR at the Kaluk police station that his pet dog is missing. The same night, the family members of Rai heard gunshots in their neighbourhood. The next day the pet dog returned with multiple injuries profusely bleeding. Though the dog was given treatment the dog succumbed to its injuries.

The matter was reported to Kaluk police station and autopsy was conducted at the AH&VS hospital report of which is awaited. A case has been registered under section 429 IPC R/W sec 11 of POCTA act 1960. Investigation into the case is on.
