DIBRUGARH: In view of forthcoming assembly elections, Dibrugarh Deputy Commissioner Pallav Gopal Jha has declared Dry Day in the district from 5 pm of March 25 to 5 pm of March 27 and on the counting day of votes, (May 2) till the end of counting.

 

All kinds of liquor wholesale warehouses, wine shops, sales of liquor in hotels, clubs, country-made liquor shops, etc, have been declared closed on the said days, said an official notification from the DC's office.

Violations of this order will be subject to disciplinary action under the Assam Excise Act, the notice further added.

 

The 2021 Assam Legislative Assembly election is the 15th quinquennial legislative assembly election scheduled to be held in Assam from March 27 to April 6 in three phases, to elect 126 MLAs to the 15th Assam Legislative Assembly.
