KATHMANDU: An earthquake of magnitude 5.3 on the Richter scale jolted the parts of Nepal at 5.27 am this morning, confirmed the National Center for Seismology.

The quake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers at latitude 28.24 and longitude 84.36.

"Earthquake of Magnitude:5.3, Occurred on 19-05-2021, 05:27:58 IST, Lat: 28.24 & Long: 84.36, Depth: 10 Km , Location: 111km WNW of Kathmandu," tweeted the National Center for Seismology.

At 8.11 am, the state was jolted again by a quake measuring 4.9 magnitude.

"Earthquake of Magnitude:4.9, Occurred on 19-05-2021, 08:11:38 IST, Lat: 28.20 N & Long: 84.42 E, Depth: 10 Km , Region: Nepal," the National Center for Seismology tweeted.

 

However, no loss of lives and properties has been reported so far.

More details are awaited.
