BAKSA: A joint team of Office of the Range Forest Officer, Kumarikata Range, and the 24 Bn Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) seized an elephant tusk and arrested two persons in the Kumarikata area in the Baksa district of Assam.

Following a tip-off about the tusk, the forest officials along with a SSB team conducted a search operation at the Daimabari village located in Tamulpur Tehsil in Baksa and seized the tusk apprehending two persons.

The accused has been identified as --Budhuram Murmu (26) and Sunil Murmu (23), the residence of Daimabari village.

An investigation on the matter is underway and the arrested accused were handed over to the Range Forest Officer, Kumarikata Range.
