England is chasing 213 runs to beat West Indies in the World Cup Cricket campaign at Southampton.

The pre-tournament favourite scored 69 runs without losing wicket after eleven overs.

England will look to get points on the board following a shock defeat to Pakistan.

Eoin Morgan's side will be keen to avoid a washout which would see the points shared.

Mark Wood and Jofra Archer picked up three wickets apiece to end West Indies inings at 212 all out, with over five overs left.

For England the other notable contribution came from Joe Root who struck twice to bring England back in the game. Chris Woakes and Jofra Archer kept things tight early on, restricting Jason Holder's side to just eight runs off the first five overs in Southampton.

Opener Chris Gayle was in his devastating mood, smashing Archer for two straight fours.

However, in the next over Mark Wood put down the chance of getting him out after seemingly having the ball under control.

But Jonny Bairstow made no mistake on the square leg boundary after Gayle did not quite get hold of a Liam Plunkett short delivery.

Two balls later West Indies were in deep trouble at 55-3 when Shai Hope was trapped in front of the wicket by Wood.

Nicholas Pooran and Shimron Hetmyer put on 89 runs partnership for the fourth wicket before Root struck, catching Hetmyer off his own bowling for 39.

Root struck again in his next over when West Indies captain Jason Holder (nine) could only pop the ball up for another caught and bowled immediately after a six over long-off.

Andre Russell battered two sixes off leg spinner Adil Rashid in three balls, but then did not quite get hold of a Wood short ball and was caught by Woakes at deep midwicket.

Thus, wickets kept falling and West Indies were bundled out for 212.
