Heavy rains have caused Flash floods in various parts of Guwahati after a heavy rainfall lashed the city on Tuesday. Citizens have been experiencing harrowing times due to the flash flood in many areas of the capital city including Hatigaon and Chandmari.

On the other hand, flash floods caused traffic congestion in several parts of the city as the streets have been submerged.

Assam has been receiving incessant rainfall since Monday. According to  a report of weather.com, isolated extremely heavy falls are on the cards for Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya today and over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim today and tomorrow.

Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim have been placed under a red warning (‘take action’ for protection against rough weather), whereas Assam, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh have been retained in the orange alert by India Meteorological Department (IMD).
