GUWAHATI: After registering a rise for four consecutive days, prices of petrol and diesel were kept unchanged at their record highs today. With the consecutive hikes on Petroleum & Diesel in India, new reports state that - Flying is now cheaper than Driving - as Petroleum price in India is 30% costlier than Aviation Fuel. Assam has also witnessed the Petrol prices crossing the mark ₹100, now at over ₹103 in several districts of the state.

As of October 16, 2021, the price of petrol in Guwahati was Rs. 101.45 per litre while the price of diesel was Rs. 93.90 per litre. The price of the fuel is inclusive of excise duty, value-added tax (VAT), and dealer commission.

In terms of Delhi - considering it as the Capital & General - the Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) costs ₹79,020.16 per Kilo Litre. Converting it to Litres, it will cost around ₹79 per Litre.

In Delhi, petrol price has risen to its highest of ₹105.84 per Litre.

The rising prices of Fuel is now a ‘burning’ issue for every common person and their household.

In India, the costliest fuel is in the border town of Ganganagar in Rajasthan where petrol comes for ₹117.86 a litre and diesel for ₹105.95.

Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri said that the increase is due to the increase in consumption after the post-COVID-19 period. Though Puri did not state about the price hike, he assured to work on the ‘stability in terms of the price.’
