Former Assam Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Tarun Gogoi advised Sachin Pilot, who was sacked as deputy chief minister, not to run after power.

The octogenarian leader asked pilot to be patient. “My advise to Sachin Pilot to be patient, not to be emotional. Having bright future your turn will come. I also had similar hurdles but ultimately patience helped. Better not to run after power which will come automatically. Ashok Gehlot may also give due recognition to Mr Pilot (nic),” Gogoi tweeted.

On the other hand, Congress parliamentarian from Assam, Gaurav Gogoi tweeted, “There was a time in Assam when Congress workers and leaders were identified and shot by ULFA. Children became orphans and party workers were ostracised. Still those brave men and women stood by the party and built it brick by brick. Our personal struggles pale in comparison.” (sic)

Meanwhile, Pilot on July 14th, 2020, tweeted, “Truth can be disturbed, not defeated.”

Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh Congress leader Digvijaya Singh said Sachin Pilot should have shown patience. "Sachin Pilot was made an MP, a Central Minister, Rajasthan Party Chief & Deputy CM, what is his age? He is still young, he should have some patience. His actions have been against the party discipline. These youngsters do not have patience," he said, news agency PTI reported

The Congress yesterday announced that Pilot has been removed as Rajasthan deputy CM and PCC chief. This came soon after Pilot and his loyalist MLAs stayed away from the CLP meeting in Jaipur. Pilot has now announced that he is not joining the BJP. Meanwhile, the Rajasthan Speaker CP Joshi on July 15th, 2020 issued notices to Pilot and 18 other party members after the Congress party sought their disqualification from the state assembly.

Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala on Tuesday said that the party regrets that Pilot and his associates have fallen to the BJP’s trap of destabilising the Gehlot government.
