Former Assam, Ranji Trophy player dies at 87

Former Ranji Trophy player, Madhab Talukdar was found dead at his own residence Uzan bazar, Guwahati following prolong illness.

He was the founder member of Veteran Cricket Association of Assam and was popularly known as Gandu da.

A former Ranji Trophy Player who played 13 (thirteen) matches for Assam and played debut match against Bengal in the   year 1956-57.

He was 87 years old and leaves behind 2 (two) daughters.

The President,General Secretary and all the members of the Veteran Cricket Association of Assam (VCAA) is deeply grieved by the news of Madhab Talukdar's  demise on 9th October 2020 at 12.30 PM

They also said that "we can feel the irrepairable void created by the death of the doyen of sports in Assam,

His contribution towards sports, and to Cricket in particular, will be remembered all through out in golden letters in the history of sports in Assam."
