The four day autumn session of Assam assembly began on Monday on a stormy note with protests and arguments by the opposition. Heated exchange of words were exchanged between the ruling government and opposition with issues ranging from COVID-19 pandemic to Clause 6 of the Assam Accord.

Congress legislator from Mariani Rupjyoti Kurmi was suspended from the house on the first day of the four day autumn session of Assam Legislative Assembly. Kurmi was suspended by speaker Hitendra Nath Goswami for creating noisy scenes in the House over Clause 6 report of Assam Accord by the high level committee.

Earlier in the day, the firebrand legislator Kurmi accused the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led government of not being serious in implementing the clause 6 of the Assam Accord. Taking a dig on the saffron party, the congress legislator said that it will become clear that the BJP led government is not at all serious on implementing the clause 6 of the Assam Accord on the lines of recommendation made by the High level committee.
