Gauhati university students stage protest demanding exam postponement

GUWAHATI: Hundreds of Gauhati University students today staged a sit-in demonstration outside the varsity campus demanding postponement of the post-graduate 1st semester examinations, scheduled to start from April 21.

The students claimed that the varsity authorities are not willing to hold the examinations in two phases, as had been notified earlier.

It needs mention here that the Gauhati University authorities issued a notification to hold the post-graduation first semester examinations at the previously scheduled time.

The notification also said that the examinations will be held in two phases and any candidate unable to appear in the first phase may sit for the examination in the second phase.
