ROTI-MAKING MACHINE ROTI-MAKING MACHINE

NEW DELHI: So what do agitating farmers braving the winter chill and preparing for what could be a long drawn-out impasse with the Centre do to beat the pangs of hunger? Install a ginormous roti-making machine, of course!

Videos of the machine churning out perfectly made rotis, the staple of Northern India, have now started going viral on social media. In addition to going viral on WhatsApp, the video is also being shared on Facebook by netizens.

Mrinal Devburman, former of the All India Radio, posted a video of this unique device along with the caption, "To aid the farmers braving cold weather conditions, a huge Roti making machine has been installed at agitation site."

In the video, the entire process of the machine's 'expert' roti-making can be witnessed, with the neat rotis being heated by the machine's own semi furnace. This machine, it can be observed, has the ability to make dozens of rotis at one go, making it that much easier for the agitators to sate their bellies. Pretty interesting, right?

According to Daman Gill, who is among the protesters agitating at the Delhi border, all the farmers have chipped in with contributions to purchase the roti-maker.

Needless to say, netizens are now marveling at the machine, which has emerged as a 'hit' at the site, where tensions are still quite high, with the farmers and the Union Government at an impasse over 3 Bills passed earlier this year that have been condemned as "anti-farmer" by the community.

"Do they taste just as good as hand made? I love technology and food coming together. This is amazing. I'm glad they are being taken care of, we need our farmers," wrote user Conald Frostig-Miller, expressing his awe at the roti-making machine.

Meanwhile, the agitating farmers’ unions have rejected the government's draft proposal on amendment to the farm laws. The farmer leaders have further declared their intention to continue the agitation till all the three farm laws are repealed, with plans to block Delhi-Jaipur highway by December 12.
