Sarma also promised to set up a statue of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma at Dwimalu near here at state government cost. “I am sure, this will be the first time the state government will be funding for a statue of Bodofa. It will be like that of Mahatma Gandhi, Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi or Bishnu Ram Medhi which we in the state government fund for sculpting,” he said.

Earlier he said the Bodoland Territorial Region Accord 2020 has ushered in complete peace and tranquility in all tribal inhibited areas of Assam and the state government would ensure implementation of the accord in letter and spirit.

I also promise there that every single letter in the accord will be implemented in the best spirit. The visits of the two top leaders of the nation – Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah – within a year to celebrate the BTR Accord is a testimony of the BJP’s commitment towards the people of BTR,” the minister said.
