Happy birthday to Mizoram CM Zoramthanga

GUWAHATI: Mizoram chief minister Zoramthanga turned 77 today. Party workers, cabinet colleagues, friends, relatives, and his well-wishers, and dignitaries across the country took time out to shower their wishes for him on his birthday today.

Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma greeted CM Zoramthanga on his 77th birthday and wished him a long and healthy life.

"Heartfelt birthday wishes to Hon'ble Chief Minister of Mizoram Shri

">@ZoramthangaCM ji. May the Almighty bless you with a long and healthy life and provide strength to work more for welfare of the people of Mizoram and the Nation," he tweeted.

The chief ministers from the rest of the Northeast states and dignitaries across the country also took to Twitter to greet CM Zoramthanga on his special day.

CM Zoramthanga was born to Darphunga and Vanhnuaichhingi on 13 July 1944 at Samthang village who officially joined the Mizo National Front freedom (MNF) movement in 1965.

He served as CM of Mizoram for two consecutive terms, from December 1998 to December 2008.

Following his party's re-election to power in the 2018 state assembly elections, he was re-elected as chief minister.
