GUWAHATI: Widespread rainfall is expected over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and Sikkim, along with local thundershowers on Saturday.

During the next 24 hours,thunderstorm activity with frequent cloud to ground lightning is expected over Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Bengal, Jharkhand and Bihar ahead of the onset of monsoons.

Meanwhile, a cyclonic circulation can be found to the northwest of the Bay of Bengal which is likely to develop into a low-pressure area during the next 24 hours. The system would most likely move west-northwestward toward Odisha.

For the next few days, rain and thunderstorms are forecast in East and Northeast India as a result of its effects.

Through Monday, heavy to extremely heavy rain is expected in isolated portions of Odisha and neighbouring Andhra Pradesh and Chhattisgarh posing a danger of flooding, swollen rivers and inundation in low-lying areas.

Furthermore, it has been forecast that is expected to move northwestward, eastward through Uttar Pradesh and become inconsequential by Tuesday.

Moreover, there is a chance that westerly winds will strengthen along the west coast as a result of the low-pressure region.

As a result, extensive rainfall activity with heavy to very heavy rains is expected throughout Maharashtra's coastal districts from June 11 to 15.

From June 12 to 15, similar weather will persist throughout coastal Karnataka.

Until June 15, some portions of Kerala may get scattered heavy rainfall.
