Hero Splendor tops October sales in India

Guwahati: Even though the COVID-19 pandemic is still a major risk to the people as well as the economy, Hero Splendor saw a 19.56 percent hike in its sale with 3.15 lakh total sales in the month of October 2020 as compared to October 2019 making it the top most selling motorcycle in the country.

As per the latest sale reports, Hero Motorcorp sold 3,15,798 splendors in the month of October 2020 while in October 2019, it sold 2,64,137 units. The splendor also holds a market share of almost 27.35 percent of the top ten motorcycle sales in India.

Hero’s HF Deluxe held onto 20.19 percent of the total top ten sales with 2,33,061 total sales in October 2020 against 1,85,751 sales in October 2019. It saw a 25.47 percent hike in sales.

On the other hand, Bajaj Pulsar saw a hike of 44.72 per cent in sales with 1,38,218 units being sold in October 2020 where as it was 95,509 units in October 2019. It held a market share of 11.97 per cent in the list of top ten motorcycles.

Following these three were Honda’s CB Shine with 1.18 lakh units, Hero Glamour with 78 thousand units, Hero Passion with 75 thousand, Bajaj Platina with 60 thousand units, Bajaj CT with 51 thousand units, Royal Enfield Classic 350 with 41 thousand units and TVS Apache with 40 thousand units being sold in the month of October 2020.

Among this Bajaj Platina and Bajaj CT saw a dip in the sale. As per reports, Platina had a sale of 70,466 units in October 2019 but it fell by 13.48 per cent this year with 60,967 units being sold in October 2020. This was a dip by almost 10 thousand units.

On the other hand, Bajaj CT saw a dip by 16.97 per cent with sales dropping by 10 thousand units. It saw a total sale of 51,052 units this year while in 2019’s October it saw a sale of 61,483 units.
