Guwahati, July 20, 2019:

It seems like Assam's 'Dhing Express' Hima Das cannot help winning golds! In a latest development, the mixed relay team that she was a part of has seen its 'silver' upgraded to a 'gold'.

This development occurred after the Gold winning team's athlete, Bahrain athlete Kemi Adekoya, had tested positive in a dope test following which he is handed a four-year ban by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU)

The India mixed relay team comprised of Mohammad Anas, Hima Das, Arokia Rajiv and M R Poovamma. They had competed and won the silver medal in the 4×400 mixed relay category of the Asian Games held in Jakarta last year.

It may be mentioned that Hima Das, nicknamed the Dhing Express, is an Indian sprint runner from the state of Assam. She holds the current Indian national record in 400 metres with a timing of 50.79 s that she clocked at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta, Indonesia.
