Guwahati: Assam's Health, Education, and Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today said that the state government's flagship 'Orunodoi Scheme' for economically backward persons will be officially launched in Guwahati on the 22nd of this month. The Minister also warned well-to-do people not to hoodwink the Government and avail the benefits of the scheme in an "unfair" manner.

The Minister said that the State Government has finished the beneficiary selection for the 'Orunodoi' scheme. "The ones who are not eligible and have inserted their names by force should withdraw their names. If someone files an RTI against these persons, it will be considered as a criminal offence."

Sarma also said that logos will be pasted in front of the households benefitting from the 'Arnodoi' scheme. "Each family benefitting from the scheme will be identified in this manner. Thus, if someone who should not be benefitting from the scheme receives the benefit, it will be plain for everyone to see," Sarma said.
