Hollywood Star Leonardo Dicaprio Posts About Water Crisis in India

LA, June 26, 2019:

'Titanic' star and Hollywood heartthrob Leonardo Dicaprio has shared a post about the water crisis that has plagued India (and especially Tamil Nadu capital Chennai) in recent times. The four main water reservoirs in the Tamil Nadu capital are completely dry, as a result of which the residents are facing acute water shortage.

The Oscar-winner has recently shared a BBC post on Instagram that mentions the issue. The post shows many woman surrounding a well and trying to draw water from the well, along with the message:

"Only rain can save Chennai from this situation." A well completely empty, and a city without water. The southern Indian city of Chennai is in crisis, after the four main water reservoirs ran completely dry. The acute water shortage has forced the city to scramble for urgent solutions and residents have to stand in line for hours to get water from government tanks. As the water levels depleted, hotels and restaurants started to shut down temporarily, and the air con was turned off in the city's metro. Leonardo, who is greatly involved in environmental issues, had brought up the topic while accepting his first and only Oscar for 'The Revenant'. "Let us not take this planet for granted", he had said while accepting the award, and he has continued his crusade against environmental degradation for a long period of time.

The superstar will be next seen in Quentin Tarantino's much awaited period-drama 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood' alongside fellow Hollywood heartthrob Brad Pitt.
