The High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and High Madrassa Leaving Certificate examination are likely to be delayed by a month. The Secondary Education Board of Assam (SEBA) is likely to defer it considering the COVID-19 situation.

The HSLC examination scheduled to be held in February will now be held in March next year. The SEBA committee has almost finalized the schedule, but no formal announcement is made so far.

Earlier, the SEBA had decided to reduce 30 percent syllabus of HSLC examinations for 2021 in view of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.All the schools will get the new syllabus in PDF format on Tuesday next. On the other hand, syllabus for class nine students will also be reduced by 30 per cent.

Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) had reduced 30 per cent of the syllabus for higher secondary second year students.
