Huge cache of arms and ammunition recovered in Assam’s Chirang

GUWAHATI: Assam Police personnel in BTR’s Chirang have once against recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition in the Amlaiguri village in the Manas National Park.

“In continuation of operation against illegal weapons (abuse and stockpiling), a rigorous search operation has been conducted by Chirang Police led by Addl. SP (Hq), Chirang assisted by SDPO Bijni, CI Panbari, OC Panbari PS and CRPF personnel of 156 BN C Coy today, on 12.02.2021 from 4.30 A.M. onwards inside Manas National Park located in the North-Western side of Amlaiguri village under Panbari PS (sic)”, an official release stated.

Two AK series rifles, two magazines, an M 20 Pistol, and a magazine, as well as bullets have been recovered, an official said, adding that follow-up legal action will be taken accordingly.
