Hygiene and Summers: Here’s all you need to know

The summers are here, making us all very sweaty. Taking care of your personal hygiene is very important especially during the summers.

Make sure you wash your face frequently to get rid of all the oil and grime. Using a mild facewash will help remove the dirt and sweat that accumulates on our face through the night. This also helps us stay refreshed and hygienic all day.

Once you are done with washing the face, hop into the shower to wash your body really well. It is important to save water but our body tends to get super sticky in the summers and it is important that we rid it of all the sweat and grime to feel fresh and hygienic all day long. Even if you wake up late, be sure to take a shower before stepping out.


In summers it is also very important to wash your hair at least thrice a week just to remove all the oil produced from your scalp. If you have a normal amount of sweat on your head, tame it with dry shampoo for an extra day but please do not wash your hair every day. This increases breakage and frizz and strips your hair and scalp of natural oils which actually increases the oiliness of your hair overtime. When that happens, you won’t be able to get away with every second day washes even in the winter, so please refrain from that. It is necessary to maintain the hygiene but also keep keep in mind that excess of anything can be harmful.

Sweating is a normal bodily function that helps regulate your temperature. A shower at the end of your day will remove bacteria build up and help you keep yourself hygienic all night. So that is all you need to do, instead of carrying around 50 extra products in a purse!
Using a deodorant/body mist/perfume will keep you smelling good and feeling fresh the whole day long.


Lastly, dirty unwashed lingerie can harbour microorganisms and wearing clothes with these microorganisms on them can lead to skin infections. This also leads to unpleasant odour as they might have bacteria and fungi as well. So remember, hygiene is most important for your health and for your skin, especially during these sweaty, summer months.
