India corona cases cross 139K, death toll exceeds 4K

As of 25th May, India has reached 139,000* in terms of corona positives. The country currently has 77,103 active cases with 57,720 cured and discharged. The total number of deaths is 4,021.

Among the states, Maharashtra is the first state to cross 50 thousand cases. It has recorded 50,231 corona cases with 14,600 cured and 1,577 deaths. The western state is followed by Gujarat and Tamil Nadu. Gujarat has corona 14,056 cases with 6412 cured and 858 deaths. Tamil Nadu has crossed 16277 cases with 8324 cured and 111 deaths. The National Capital with 13418 COVID-19 cases has crossed the 10 thousand mark on May ^24th, 2020. So far, 6,540 have been cured in Delhi with 261 deaths.

India has surpassed China’s official figure of 82,933 confirmed coronavirus cases. India is the 10^th most cases in the world. So far, the USA has the highest number of covid19 cases at 1,686,436.

Global coronavirus cases have surpassed 5,502,590 cases, with Latin America overtaking the United States and Europe in the past week to report the largest portion of new daily cases globally. It represents a new phase in the virus' spread, which initially peaked in China in February before large-scale outbreaks followed in Europe and the United States.

Assam has the highest number of confirmed coronavirus cases.

Much will be understood in the days to come with interstate airlines getting opened, which can possibly increase the spike of cases as the country heads towards a relaxed system of lockdown. The question is, is living with corona the new normal?
