India reaches 100cr vaccine milestone; Modi terms it ‘an answer to all criticism’

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday addressed the nation after India reached the milestone of 100 crore vaccinations.

During his address he termed the milestone as the milestone of 100 cr vaccine as an answering call to all those criticizing India’s vaccination drives. He also added that critics have been silenced

He said that this milestone is a symbol of a new India rather than just a number.

“100cr vaccines is not mere a number. It reflects the ability of the country. It is a new chapter of the country that is aware how to achieve bug targets”, said Modi.

“India’s capability in medicine and vaccination was questioned, 100 cr vaccinations is the answer to all.”

Talking about celebrations, Modi said people cannot let their guards down during Diwali or the upcoming festivals, even as he praised everyone in helping India go past the 100 crore vaccination milestone.

He further congratulated the citizens as the country and said that this achievement was not merely a number, but rather marked “the beginning of a new chapter in the history of the country”.

“The journey from anxiety to assurance has happened and our nation has emerged stronger, thanks to the world’s largest vaccination drive. It has been a truly bhagirath effort involving multiple sections of society.”, he added.

Speaking further, “When the pandemic hit the world, there were a lot of apprehensions regarding India’s ability to deal with the situation. However, 100 crore doses is an answer to all our critics.”

He further added that for Indians democracy means ‘sabka saath’.

‘If the virus doesn’t not discriminate, then vaccination also shouldn’t. So, there was no VIP culture allowed in vaccination’, he added.

Talking about vaccine hesitancy, he said that while many countries are struggling with the issue of vaccine hesitancy, people’s participation has become a strong weapon against the pandemic for Indians.”

Since the announcement of Lockdown Modi has addressed the nation for the 10th time so far.

The first was on March 19, 2020, in which PM Modi had announced the Janta Curfew amid surging Covid-19 cases.
