NEW DELHI: India has recorded over 18,599 fresh COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours raising the COVID-19 tally in the country, said the union health ministry.

 

With these fresh COVID-19 cases the overall tally of the country reached 11,229,398.

 

The total number of active cases in the country stands at 1.88 lakh after six states across the country reported a spike in daily Covid-19 cases.

Currently, the active hotspot in the country is- Maharashtra, Kerala, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Gujarat.

 

Maharashtra continued to have the most regular new cases, with 10,187, as of Sunday while, Kerala comes in second with 2,791 new cases, while Punjab has 1,159 new cases.

 

According to health ministry data on Mshowed, India's vaccination campaign is in full swing, with 2,09,89,010 people vaccinated so far.
