NEW DELHI: With 1.84 lakh new cases, India had its highest single-day increase ever. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India's COVID-19 count has now reached 13,873,825 cases.

India is the country with the second-highest number of total COVID-19 cases and the third-highest number of active cases. In India, 1,027 people died in a single day as a result of covid-19.

The virus has claimed the lives of 172,115 people.

Meanwhile, the Maharashtra government has imposed lockdown-like curbs in the state from 8 pm today.

Only essential services will be allowed for the next 15 days, as section 144 has been imposed in the state.

In the last 24 hours, the state has reported 60,212 incidents. COVID-19 cases increased by 13,468 in Delhi, the city's highest single-day total till date.

Maharashtra (3,519,208 cases), Kerala (1,172,882), Karnataka (1,074,869), Tamil Nadu (940,145), and Andhra Pradesh are the five states with the most cases (928,664).

Coronavirus cases continue to grow across the world, with 138,000,581 people infected.

Although 111,021,803 people have recovered, 2,971,104 people have died.

With 32,069,710 people affected, the United States remains the worst-affected country, followed by India, Brazil, France, and Russia.

However, in terms of total active events, the United States leads the pack, followed by France, India, Brazil, and Belgium.
