India’s Flying Sikh Milkha Singh Tests Positive for COVID-19

India’s Flying Sikh and legendary sprinter Milkha Singh announced that he has tested positive for Covid-19.

India’s Flying Sikh and legendary sprinter Milkha Singh announced that he has tested positive for Covid-19. Reportedly, Singh is asymptomatic and is currently in isolation at his Chandigarh residence.

Singh along with his family underwent Covid tests after some of their helpers tested positive for the virus. The results for all except Singh came out negative. Although Singh said that he is surprised by the results as he has been indoors almost all the time, he stated that he has neither cough nor fever and is feeling fine.

“My doctor told me I will be alright in three-four days. I did jogging just yesterday. I am in high spirits," added the 91-year-old sprinter.

Singh further added that he has been doing his exercise regularly without fail and also recommended everyone to do physical exercise to maintain their health during the pandemic.

Singh’s wife Nirmal Kaur said that her husband has never ever complained of weakness and bodyache before. Commenting on her husband testing positive Kaur said that one of their domestic helpers has been high on fever but concealed it from them. Later the helper tested positive.

Milkha singh is an Indian former track and field sprinter who was introduced to the sport while serving in the Indian Army. He was and still is the only athlete to win Gold in the 400m at the Asian as well the Commonwealth Games.

Singh’s son Jeev Milkha Singh who is currently in Dubai shall be returning home this weekend to visit his father.
