Guwahati, May 30, 2019:

The popular Indian Music company T-Series has done what no one else could -- rack up a hundred million (10 crore) subscribers on the video-sharing site, Youtube.

T-Series primarily known for Bollywood music soundtracks and Indi-pop music. As of 2014, it is India's largest music record label, with up to a 35% share of the Indian music market, followed by Sony Music India and Zee Music. T-Series also owns and operates the most-viewed and most-subscribed channel on YouTube, with over 100 million subscribers. At the time of filing this report, their Youtube channel has 100,116,579 subscribers.

With this result, T-Series has officially dethroned the erstwhile King Of Youtube, Pewdiepie, who is starting to fall behind in the and has 96,218,605 subscribers at the moment.

Pewdiepie and T-Series have been on the warpath for the past few years as both channels were aiming to become the first to reach the 100 million mark, but T-Series has clearly won this competition now.

Both channels passed 90 million subscribers within hours of each other in March 2019, though PewDiePie's six-year reign as the world's most popular YouTube channel finally ended at the end of March amid the T-Series mania that has gripped India, and it has to be believed, the world.

The rise of the Indian channel has proved controversial among some corners of the YouTube community, with some figures seeing it as emblematic of YouTube's perceived shift away from independent creators to focus on corporate brands.

PewDiePie previously said he "didn't really care" about T-Series, though went on to enlist his legions of fans to help keep his subscriber numbers ahead of T-Series.

"It's already a heated subject not that a company is taking over," he said in a video posted to his channel in October.

Pewdiedie also released a 'diss track' called 'Bitch Lasagna' taunting T-Series which has recently been banned in India.
