Guwahati, December 31, 2019:

After Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched his #IndiaSupportsCAA campaign on Twitter to counter the rising public dissent against the Citizenship Amendment Act, fans of the BJP party soon started trending this hashtag. However, to their horror, everything would go wrong soon.

Soon, instead of using the hashtag 'IndiaSupportsCAA', some less enlightened ones were later seen using '#IndiaSupportsCCA', which soon started trending worldwide on Twitter. According to reports, this transpired after the BJP IT cell made a typing mistake.

Soon, even leading BJP politicians were found using the incorrect form, and Twitter would eventually have a field day roasting these politicians on Twitter. Even Amit Malviya, the BJP IT cell head, was soon found making the same mistake.

Twitter user Roshan Rai, roasting the saffron party's fanbase wrote, "Bhakts are trending

Another user, 'St Sinner', trolling the BJP, wrote: "What is NRC ? Amit Shah ~ National Citizens Register Of Citizens. What is CAA ? Bhakt ~ Citizens Citizens Act."

Another Twitter user, Shachi Nelli, lamenting the state of affairs, wrote, "Trending #IndiaSupportsCCA is just another in a long line of self-goals proving that the IT cell ecosystem is neither a representation of India, nor does it speak to the values & opinions of the citizens of this country. Purchased mouthpieces do not equate influence."
