NEW DELHI: IndiGo has suspended its daily flight from Kolkata to Shillong for an eight-day period beginning today.

The authority also urged passengers to contact the airline if they had any queries about flight rescheduling or refunds.

“Important Information, all passengers are hereby informed that M/s. Indigo Airlines @IndiGo6E has suspended their #Shillong operations from 23rd April to 30th April, 2021. M/s. Indigo Airlines may be contacted for any query on #rescheduling or #refund,” AAI Shillong Airport tweeted.

The reason for the airline's suspension of operations was not given, but according to reports, the decision was made in light of the COVID-19 situation.

The budget carrier resumed service on this route in February, this year after being closed for nearly 10 months due to COVID-19.

However, FlyBig, which began a direct flight between New Delhi and Shillong in February this year, is trying to resume operations next week.

The chartered flight was halted in the middle due to a lack of DGCA slots.
