Inter-factional clash: NSCN (KK) 'private' killed by NSCN (IM) ultras

Itanagar: Suspected NSCN (I-M) militants yesterday gunned down a self-styled private identified as Jomie Konyak from the NSCN (KK) near Chatung village in Longding district of Arunachal Pradesh.

Konyak, hailing from Nagaland’s Mon district, reportedly operated under the self-styled sergeant major Wanglem Wangsu.

According to reports, the bone of contention between the two factions of the insurgent group exists primarily because of extortion related activities.

After the killing was reported,a large number of security forces moved into the area and launched a massive combing operation to scour out the militants.
