International Drug Dealer Nabbed in Assam's Cachar District

Cachar, February 26, 2020:

Thoubal police have formally arrested the main accused in an international drug smuggling racket in Assam's Cachar district on February 25.

The arrested smuggler has been identified as Abdul Hashim (aged 41), an inhabitant of Jiraniya in Tripura's West Agartala district.

According to official reports, Hashim is a henchman of the dreaded International drug smuggler from Myanmar, Kyaw Kyaw Naing alias Abdul Rahim, required in connection with FIR No. 94(8)2019 TBL PS ( 40 lakhs WY tablets seizure on 24/08/2019 from Phoudel Keirambi).

A Thoubal District Police team, led by Additional SP (Ops) Sachidanada, and the smuggler was taken to Thoubal on February 26.

So far, 8 persons have been arrested in connection with this case including one International drug kingpin from Myanmar, 4 from Tripura, and 3 from Manipur.
