IPFT youth leader Shukla Charan Noatia dumps decision to join Congress, to remain in IPFT

Tripura, April 10, 2019:

The pre-election twists-and-turns have continued in the state of Tripura. After initially making the announcement of joining Congress Party, the Youth General Secretary of Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT) Shukla Charan Noatia has changed his decision and has decided to remain in the IPFT.

Speaking to InsideNE, Shukla Charan Noatia said, “Aligning with the Congress will not fulfill our demand for separate statehood. Thus, I have changed my decision and made up my mind to stay with the IPFT. I will be working during the election and campaign for the party.”

It is to be mentioned that after the release of the BJP’s manifesto titled ‘Sankalpa Patra’, IPFT members have started leaving the party due to its alliance with the saffron party. During the period, the youth brigade of the IPFT, led by Noatia announced that they would be joining the Congress ahead of the elections.
