GUWAHATI: Union External Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar and Japan to India Ambassador Satoshi Suzuki who is in Assam visited Kamakhya temple in Guwahati this morning and after that, they visited the Water Supply project site in the city.

 

The MEA minister wrote on Twitter, “Began the day with the blessing of Maa Kamakhya at Nilachal hills, Guwahati.”

 

 

State’s finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and cabinet minister Siddharth Bhattacharya accompanied them.

Sarma took to Twitter and wrote, “What a blissful start to morning! Today, accompanied Hon EAM Sri @DrSJaishankar on his visit to Kamakhya Temple. May Ma bless everyone with good health and joy.”

 

 

After seeking blessings in the Kamakhya temple they headed towards the Water Supply project site, which Japan is pleased to support this important project.

 

Satoshi Suzuki shared on Twitter, “Visited #Guwahati Water Supply project site with @DrSJaishankar. Japan is pleased to support this important project. Clean water will soon flow to the homes in Guwahati #Assam! #JapanIndia #ODA.”

 

 

The delegations arrived in Guwahati on Sunday evening. They are in Assam to review Japanese funded projects in the state.

Noteworthy is that the 13th Japanese industrial town of India headed by the Japan External Trade Organisations being set up in Nagarbera village of Kamrup district.

 

In a recent media report, there has also been speculation about the possibility of signing a memorandum of understanding between the two countries to build and strengthen youth skills for better recruitment.
